Buying men gifts or even getting a clue as to what gift you can buy for your man is like trying to get blood out of a stone sometimes Some women prefer to drop very obvious hints on specific gifts that they may want, as do some men but a lot of the times it is difficult to figure out what the other would like as a gift Unless there is a clear and obvious statement made somewhere, there is no way of knowing, especially if you are new to the relationship and are keen on getting that first gift right

For some men gifts are not such a big deal When a girlfriend asks them what they would like for their birthday, many will reply ‘It’s the thought that counts’ However, deep down there is a burning desire to request for something which is extortionate in price or is difficult to reach This is not to suggest that women are all the same and request for similar things, or they are predictable and so shopping for gifts for them is easier On the contrary, this article is directed towards those women who, like me, find it very difficult to buy a gift for their other half!

In recent times there have been more women opting to buy experience days rather than boxing a present up in a fanciful manner Giving a unique experience tends to provide you with much more affection and appreciation in the future As my partner loves to take part in all things new and has a passion for learning new skills, I took a gamble and came up with the perfect gift – a one day flying lesson One cannot imagine anyone not wanting to take lessons in flying, unless you are one of the unfortunate few who have a severe fear of flying, but without knowing he would be interested I booked for the lesson and as it turns out three years on he has never forgotten the experience

This is not to say that as a devoted girlfriend one must take a risk and purchase something completely out of their boyfriend’s comfort zone Whether going ahead and booking for something they have never tried, or finding something that you think they may be interested in, it really depends on their personality, choice and taste As I was safe in the knowledge that my partner loved to try something new and exciting, I knew I was on for a winner when I booked his birthday treat!

The difficulty when buying men gifts is that when looking for something special, it will normally need to be organised well in advance as opposed to leaving it to the last minute With this in mind it is possible to find experience day gifts at the last minute, if one is confident that the gift is sure to impress Experience days do not necessarily have to be a sporting event but can be a day best spent together and consists of picking up new skills These can be a short wine tasting course, cookery workshop, archery tournament, fishing tour, a day at the races or even being part of a rally car racing circuit The list is endless it is then just a matter of picking, mixing and matching to your partner’s preference

In order to make sure that these gifts are guaranteed to do exactly what they have been created for, then the best thing to do is to find forums and posts from people who have experienced these activities and gain their advice Many will leave honest feedbacks, which is worth trusting The more informative and descriptive these posts are the easier it is for you to decide on treating your other half to it
